About seven years after the publication of the last of his popular Pictorial Guides, Wainwright then produced The Outlying Fells Pictorial Guide. This basically covered the lesser hills which surrounded the main Lakeland Fells. This section if the website covers this area of the Lake District.
On the map below the markers indicate the separate chapters in the Outlying Fells Guide, individual fells and named summits (as per AW’s own index) are identified in each marker description. Red markers are for those yet to be visited, Green are for those completed.
