Just to the west from where I live and across the border into Cumbria lies the Eden Valley. I have to pass through it on my way to the Lake District. However, I do make the effort to visit this delightful region whenever possible. The Howgill fells are fairly unknown to many walkers but their mostly gentle rounded slopes make for great days out.
