It’s Over!

After a busy four weeks our pop up shop is now closed.

The remaining work has been packed away, the shop has been given a good clean and the the keys have been handed back. Where did those four weeks go? Time to chill a bit over Christmas before planning some exciting events for next year.

A big thank you to everyone who came in and supported us, it was great to be back on the high street of Barnard Castle even if it was just for a month. It was a great opportunity to re-connect with some of our local customers and meet many new ones. However, despite the regular question, we a not planning to re-open a gallery in the town. Remarkably it’s 10 years next month that we gave up the gallery at the top of The Bank, mainly to allow me to complete the Wainwrights in Colour project. It was a decision that we didn’t take lightly but now we are so glad that we did. It has allowed us the freedom to us our time better.

The sales in the pop up shop were far better than we could have ever hoped. The artwork, photographs went especially well with nearly 100 images being sold in the four weeks. The 2023 calendars also sold well and in fact we are all but sold out of them with just a few copies left. If you would like one of the few remaining then don’t leave it too late, you can order one here. By the end of the month the walls on the shop were looking rather sparse with only 16 framed works left.

But this post isn’t about boasting. It’s mainly a post to thank everyone who has supported us throughout the year. Whether you have been to one of my talks, called in to see us at one of the many shows around the country or been in to the pop up shop. It has been fantastic to meet lots of new customers and to catch up with past customers.

We have had the ups and downs of the British weather to deal with and moving our display from one show to the next, especially when they were back to back, was hard graft. I couldn’t have done it without the sterling efforts of Esther. She is a true star.

Anyway, a few days to relax with friends and then its back to work. 2023 is a special year for me in more ways than one and I intend to produce some exciting new work. The shows for next year are already being booked so keep an eye here on this website to get the news as it happens.

In the meantime, Wishing you all a very Merry Christmas and Happy and Peaceful 2023. Stay Safe.

Andy
