Great Gable makes a front cover

Great Gable makes a front cover. Once again I was rather pleased when asked recently to provide an image for the front cover of the winter edition of the Wainwright Society quarterly magazine “Footsteps”. I offered up a selection of images which hopefully fitted the bill, not easy as the format of the A5 cover needs to be a portrait shaped shot not only with impact but also room to add in some editorial headline. Then this week the white envelope landed on the doormat and I was curious as to how the design would work.

Yet again, the designer Andrew, knew what he was doing and by coincidence my shot of Great Gable almost reflect the type of weather that these is over in the Lake District at this very moment. Time restrictions with me trying to get the Wainwrights in Colour Book completed mean that my days over on the fells are limited and the wonderful photos being posted on social media at this time bring a tinge of jealousy but I know that my days will come- I have other priorities now.

With the image printed on the magazine cover I have now uploaded it onto this new site.

The image is available to view (and purchase) in the new Lake District collection do take a look, as it is new setup I am more than happy to hear comments to help improve the website.
