Armboth Fell walk

A new film on You Tube

Armboth Fell in the central region of the lake district has a bit of a reputation. And it’s not a good one….it is wet, very wet. In this new film I take a walk over not only Armboth Fell but also its near neighbour, Brown Rigg. This was to explore the top that Wainwright listed when compiling his original list of fells for potential inclusion in the Pictorial Guides. It will be featured and explained in my Lakeland 365 project.

Here is the film, enjoy!

Shortly I will add the photos and full description to this Armboth Fell walk here on the website. That will allow you to follow the route step by step.

Please call back.

Andy Beck-

Having been a professional artist since leaving the Royal Air Force Regiment in 1988 Andy Beck has now become well known for his recent major project- The Wainwrights in Colour which has seen him exploring the Lakeland Fells to capture all the scenes in Wainwright’s Pictorial guides. Up until early 2013 Andy ran The Teesdale Gallery in the heart of Barnard Castle, County Durham which he did for 20 years. Reluctantly he had to close the gallery so that he could concentrate his efforts on completing the project. This has given him the freedom to paint at home in his studio or go out gathering references for his work. Andy lives in Teesdale in the north Pennines of England.

  1. Hi Andy
The Armboth Fell video certainly brought back (wet feet ) memories, me and my mate did the 214 Wainwrights in 8 months (not bad for a combined age of 150 years) Pete was raising money for Skin Cancer Research whilst I was collecting for Hospice at Home North Lakes. Your Christmas quiz plus this latest video brought back memories of wonderful days on the fell. We have 14 tops to do of the Outlying Fells yet to do, to be honest the outlying ones are the hardest. Once this virus has gone we hope to finish them. Keep sending the videos . Thank you Tony Warren
