Congratulations to the winner. Well done to M. Ainsclough who’s name was drawn out last night from the list of subscribers to this new website and who has won the original pen and ink drawing of the Scafells.
Many thanks to all the subscribers to not only this page but also to the new Facebook page which now has over 350 followers.
As you may have seen, I have taken the decision to remove the old Teesdale Gallery website and now everything in being transferred over to the new sites. It takes time as I am doing it all myself. I tend to paint during the day and then in the evenings spend an hour or two editing images and then uploading them onto these sites.
Times for me are very busy at the moment, the pressure is on to get the Wainwrights in Colour project finished and the book published. Frustratingly this means that my days out are very limited, hence the lack of recent photos and walks. However, I realise that once I accomplish my goal I should be free to wander and travel at will without the guilt of not being at the easel.
Thank you again for following my work and I hope you enjoy the new look and feel to the websites.
Andy
Thank you for taking time to read: Congratulations to the winner.
The Wainwrights in Colour
Inspired by the work of Master Fellwalker and artist Alfred Wainwright, Andy spent over ten years completing the major project The Wainwrights in Colour. This meant producing a watercolour sketch of every illustration drawn by A.W. in his seven Pictorial Guides to the Lakeland Fells. Every single location of the illustrations has been meticulously researched so that Andy’s references are taken from the exact location where A.W. stood to take his own black and white photographs.
This was a unique undertaking. Whilst many others have taken a few comparison photographs of AW’s illustrations Andy went out and not only obtained all 1500 images but then went on to paint them as watercolour sketches.
