Topographical features: The Wainwright summit is the tall beacon at the foot of which can be found the benchmark for the 2569′ height. The beacon may have been built sometime in the late 19th/ early 20th centuries as it doesn’t feature on maps before that date. The true summit is a high point 45m north of the beacon on the east side of the wall, almost exactly halfway between the beacon and a ruined sheepfold.
