Topographical features: The large cairn is the recognised Wainwright summit but close by, 3m to the east, is a rock which is slightly higher and is the true summit

Points of interest: North cairn, a short distance from the summit. In the past must taller.

Tarns: A couple of reedy pools at the head of Lingmell Gill. Larger tarns on the other side of Piers Gill on Middleboot Knotts

Waterfalls: Impressive waterfall near the top of Piers Gill. Other falls lower down in Piers Gill.

Adjoining Fells: Scafell Pike
