Topographical features: There is some confusion over the summit on this fell. AW gave a height of 1870′ which was a spot height shown on his maps of the day. This point is located at the “usually accepted summit 200 yards northeast….” However AW used that height of 1870′ for his summit which explains the discrepancy of 46′ between AW’s given height and the remeasured height. Wainwright’s summit and the true height are one and the same location
