Topographical features: In his summit description Wainwright describes the two cairns as being of similar height but he opted for the north east one as the Wainwright summit. Most likely this is down to the fact that this was the highest measured (spot height) of Glaramara on the maps of the day. With more up to date measuring the south west cairn is now recognised as being the true summit.
