Topographical features: The Wainwright summit is marked by a small cairn on a flat fronted rock. A higher point, the true summit is 200m east along the ridge is higher and with a larger cairn it is the top that most walkers consider the as the summit of Gibson Knott.

Waterfalls: There are a couple of waterfall in Green Burn in the valley to the north of the fell.
