Cold Pike

Wainwright summit: GR: NY26288 03613 2259’* True height: 2300′ 701m (same location)

Summary: This page is currently being updated. Please call back

Topographical features: As AW describes in the Pictorial Guide, “the fell top consists of three rocky humps, each with a cairn”. The spot height on his 6 inch and 2 1/2 inch OS map of 2259′ was located on the most south easterly hump. However, in his summit plan he marks the highest point (the Wainwright summit) as the most north westerly top which is indeed the highest point and true summit. This goes some way to explaining the discrepancy of 41′ between the two measured heights.
