Topographical features: The Wainwright summit and the true summit are the obvious high rock.

Points of interest: Sphinx Rock on the “Gable Girdle”

Tarns: Beck Head tarns in the saddle between Great Gable and Kirk Fell. Styhead tarn is well known. Alos worth checking out is Dry Tarn on the south eastern route to the summit.

Waterfalls: A couple of falls in Gable Beck.

Adjoining Fells: Green Gable, Kirk Fell
